Miten VP AISC: The Under 23 women's team has a fun filled weekend playing the fast 5s hockey format for the first time.

The first game up was against a strong Harbour side filled with experience and skill which proved tough to break with our young Auckland squad. The girls went down 8-2 with half of the team having their first taste of NZISA tournament hockey.

It didn't get much easier in the next game up against a lethal Pukekohe attack. Auckland started well by staying in the fight but the relentless Puke squad came away with the comfortable win in the end.

Game 3 against Wellington was a much closer affair. Both teams were feeling the heat and the legs were feeling extra heavy after the previous two games. Despite this, some great hockey was played and there were smiles all around.

2-0 to Auckland.

The next morning was the final game for 3v4 against Wellington. Both teams had reluctant goalkeepers so agreed to play without them. There was plenty of action and scoring with Auckland winning 7-2.

The game was played in good spirit and captured what NZISA sport is all about.

Congratulations to Maya Patel for being the MVP and to Salina Kanji for making the tournament team.

This was a great experience for our young squad and the team had loads of fun which was the main thing.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped to make this tournament a success.
